The image below is a pictorial representation of the radio message Dr Charles Reilly described in Chapter 32 of Disclosing the Secret that was sent out in 1974 from the Arecibo Radio telescope in binary code. The message revealed information about ourselves such as where we are located (within our local solar system), what we look like (via a crude stick figure), a simple drawing of the telescope used to send the message, and our biological construction (DNA and some of the building blocks of our biochemistry).

The photo of the reply below shows the message that Dr Charles Reilly describes has being in the exactly the same format. It was formed on 21st August 2001 in an adjacent field from a SETI radio telescope listening for signs of life. The reply described they looked like (biped), that they were carbon-silica based, had an additional DNA strand, lived on three out of the four planets in their solar system and showed us a low resolution image of the technology they used to send their reply.

Below far left is the 1974 message we sent compared to the 2001 crop circle reply (below far right).When the messages are put side by side, the similarity in format is identical.

In our message we indicated that our DNA contains 2 strands. Their crop circle response (above far right and below) indicated that, whoever replied, have DNA consisting of 3 strands, with the third element of their biological chemistry is silicon. When the message was sent in 1974 it was considered to be genetically impossible to encode silicon into a DNA structure. Scientists have since discovered that it is in fact possible.

The message also described that they look like (biped, two arms, large head), indicated that they lived on three out of the four planets in their solar system and showed us a low resolution image of the technology they used to send their reply.

As it turned out, in the exact same field a year to the day earlier, a crop circle was found (shown below) that resembled the technology they showed at the bottom of their reply, but in more detail.

Then a year after the Arecibo reply, again to the day, in the exact same location, was an enormous crop circle with a detailed image of a non-human entity holding a disk, or CD, printed with a binary code .

The crop circle was so detailed that we were able to read the disk right off the crop, as if they burned us a CD and delivered it in person. And printed on that disk was a warning.

When translated from standard 8 bit binary code, known as ASCII, the message reads, “Be aware of false gifts, their broken promises. Much pain, but still time. Believe, there is good out there. We oppose deception.”
